(Peach Melba)
Peach Melba has a sweet story behind it. This classic dessert was originally invented in London, to honor the Australian Soprano, Dame Nelli Melba (1861-1931). Its original flavor consist of two all time favorites summer fruits peaches and rashberry sauce accompanying with vanilla ice cream. Now it has a different form and preparation method based on the ingredients available. It is really a all time favorite among people in the west.
Ingredients:
- 1 (14-oz.) can Eagle Brand condensed milk
- 1 ½ cups of water
- 1 (3 ¾ -oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 (10-oz.) prepared angel food cake
- 1 ½ lbs. can sliced peaches
Method:
- In a large bowl, combine Eagle Brand condensed milk and water and mix well.
- Then, add pudding mix and blend well.
- Chill 5 minutes.
- Mix whipped cream.
- Cut cake in ¼-inch slices and line them on a 13x9x2 inch pan.
- Top with half the peaches and half of pudding mixture.
- Repeat layers.
- Then refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
